The new lightness

Classic at first sight, trend-setting at first touch. With the new STARlight glass goblet series, glass manufacturer Stölzle Lausitz has taken a further step into a new dimension. Never before has machine made glass been produced so close to mouth-blown glass with a gracefully slim stem and a gentle thin walled bowl.

STARlight is a glass series with a balanced shape. A seamless and deep-drawn transition between stem and goblet as well perfectly proportioned matching profiles giving the goblets of lead-free crystal glass a high degree of functionality with a harmonious appearance. In total, the series includes a Burgundy glass, a Bordeaux glass, a red wine goblet, a white wine glass and a champagne flute.

The special feature of the new series is the thickness - specifically the fineness of the glass. For example, the stem has a diameter that is about ten percent smaller than that of conventional machine made glasses. And the goblet also has a noticeably thinner wall thickness compared to other glasses from machine production. In this way the STARlight series combines lightness with extraordinary elegance. They are perfect for high end gastronomy, 5-star hotels and innovative wine bars. They exude elegance and exclusivity with a high degree of functionality. They also include the usual features of Stölzle glasses being dishwasher safe with a high breakage resistance making them ideal for both professional and home dining.

The glasses of the new goblet glass series STARlight are manufactured using the so called drawing process. In this machine made glass process the stem is pulled out of the glass gob at the end of the goblet just the same as it is in the handmade technique of mouth blown production. This enables a long and seamless transition between the bowl and the stem which is not common with other machine made processes. Stölzle Lausitz is one of the few glass manufacturers worldwide who are able to implement the drawing process with permanently high quality. The boundary between machine made and mouth blown has never been narrower.

The new glasses from Stölzle Lausitz are available from GPK and catering trade retailers, internet portals and the webshop at www.stoelzle-lausitz-shop.de. The recommended retail price is 9.00 euros for the Burgundy or Bordeaux glass, 8.80 euros for the red wine goblet and 7.90 euros each for the white wine glass and the champagne goblet.
